Summary:

Dating back to 1840, The Riverhill gardens is a beautiful venue. In 2012 a 25m stretch of the Rose walk wall collapsed and Watts Construction were appointed to rebuild it. The original wall was matched with a mixture of new handmade and reclaimed imperial bricks with a glazed blue header. The brickwork was all laid with a traditional lime mortar to match the existing wall.

We constructed new buttresses to provide additional support to the remainder of the existing wall.

A few key successes of this project were:

  • Successfully matched original brickwork
  • Supported the remaining existing wall to prevent further collapse.
  • Carried out refurbishment of iron gates
  • Restored gate piers.
